Yes, parents are encouraged to stay with their child during WeeWheel sessions. We believe in the power of family involvement and want parents to share in the joy and excitement of their child’s cycling journey.
WeeWheel sessions for Levels 1-4 are 45 minutes, while Level 5 is 60 minutes. This duration is designed to keep kids engaged and excited while ensuring they have plenty of time to practice their skills.
Participants should bring their own bikes to practice. If you need help sourcing one or getting a recommendation for best brands/types, we would love to assist you! Please contact us at hello@weewheelroanoke.com.
For Learn to Ride classes, we keep the groups small, with no more than eight riders per class.
For balance bike & pedal teams, we keep the groups small and intimate, with no more than 10 kids per team.
These smaller group sizes allow for more personalized attention and a better learning experience.
Members of our team enjoy
Four 45-60 minutes sessions per month.
Members enroll in a once weekly session based on ability and age.
All memberships are billed on the first of the month and you have until the last day of the month to complete all 4. Memberships roll automatically month to month.
Flexible scheduling. If you can’t make a session, cancel on the parent app no less than 4 hours prior to practice and you can save it for another time.
To sign up your child for WeeWheel, simply visit our website or contact us directly. We’ll provide all the information you need to register your child and answer any questions you may have about the program. We look forward to welcoming your child to the world of cycling with WeeWheel!
We encourage families to start on a balance bike first. Once your child is able to glide for 15 seconds of more with their feet off the ground comfortably, the are ready to leap to a pedal bike.
No.
Our focus is on building a strong foundation for future skills. Training wheels can actually work against your child by providing a false sense of balance.
Think of training wheels like the swim floaties of bikes. They don’t actually teach your child the skills needed, but inflate the sense of ability.
Instead, we ladder up. Start on a balance bike to really get solid with balance. Then add pedals.
If that sounds overwhelming, that's okay! Its what we do here and you will be amazed at how quickly your child “gets it” once we get fundamentals down. We proudly have our WeeWheel kiddos leap up to pedals, tear free!
All members must cancel no less than 4 hours prior to class, using the parent app, or the session is forfeited. By canceling ahead of time, you can use that session any other time (within your child’s level) until the last day of the month.
When you join WeeWheel, you commit to three months. Thereafter, membership is month-to-month.
